Bishop Drona's Installation & Visit to Pangil

The town of Pangil is proud to have produced a bishop among its clergy in the person of the Most Reverend Leo Murphy Drona, DD, who was named by Pope John Paul II to head the Diocese of San Pablo (Laguna). He was installed as the Third Bishop of San Pablo in the morning of June 18, 2004, and came to visit Pangil and celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving the following Sunday, June 27, 2004. He was joined by other priests from Pangil, namely Fr. Albertito Salamatin, Fr. Andres Ranoa, OFM, Fr. Charles Patricio, MSC and the youngest and latest priest so far, Fr. Cesar C. Pajarillo, Jr., of the Diocese of Rockford, IL.

During the Mass of Thanksgiving, Bp. Drona stressed the importance of the patrimony of the church and promised the people of Pangil that he will do everything to make sure that our cultural and religious heritage are protected. He stressed the importance of the peoples' collaboration in preserving the historical artifacts of the church.
